The slightly surreal sight of cows sunbathing on the beach at White Park Bay, Northern Ireland. I found out later that the cows are often here, and can wander about as they like.

A friend on Facebook later told me this story:

"I remember cows on the beach and thinking it was weird. Stopped to take a picture (from far up above) when along came a farmer in the same pull-out. He was there to count his cows and make sure they were all there but we were up pretty high and some of them were close together so he borrowed a camera with a zoom lens to do the job. So funny. Thanked us and off he went." (Sonja Burgess)
