My favourite ruined old house just outside Gortin, visited many times over the years and still standing, just about.
Gortin
The light through the trees around the house was beautiful.
Still solid in some parts, very much not in others
An umbrella malfunction.
Discussing methods of sheep farming in the Sperrins.
The scenery from this road was just beautiful, with flowers growing wild in the hedge.
A narrow space for the tractor, just off the main street in Gortin.
The beautiful scenery near Barnes Gap.
The rolling hills made it look like Yorkshire.
A ritual procession.
This man had found a piece of human-shaped bog oak and customised it, including a fetching pair of boots.
The view from Barnes Gap.
A lovely little church in the middle of nowhere.
Inside the church.
The slightly underwhelming Bronze Age stone circles and alignments at Beaghmore.
Some expectant-looking calves in a field. They were left disappointed.
Roses growing wild in a hedge.
The one day it was actually a bit overcast.
There were beautiful flowers growing wild everywhere.
Inside another ruined farmhouse. This one had some interesting things inside, such as this old stove
Some colourful decay.
There was nothing in the drawers; I looked.
It was definitely a bit spooky. As I was poking about I heard a noise outside and looking out the door saw, to my horror, the farmer approaching on his tractor. I had to hide while he passed, then I skedaddled down the road as fast as I could.
Further up the road was another abandoned farmhouse. This calendar from 1989 was inside.

This gave me the creeps; at first sight it looked like someone hanging.
My last walk, and what a gorgeous morning it was!
